Company Update

GOHS Company Updates will be coming out every quarter from 2026.

We have been finding out from clients and our local community how they are coping.

We have a few ideas and top tips:

Working from home can feel like a strange blend of comfort and chaos. The lines between work and life blur, distractions are everywhere and it is very easy to realise at 3pm that you have not moved from your chair or taken a proper break.

That is why building small, intentional habits into your day can make such a difference to focus, mood and overall wellbeing.

Creating a routine that supports your wellbeing

One simple habit is to set alarms for regular tea breaks. Those few minutes away from the screen can also stop small niggles from turning into full blown tension or fatigue. A short pause to stand up, stretch and make a drink helps you keep some structure in your day, and most of us feel better when there is a familiar rhythm to the working day. Those few minutes away from the screen can also stop small niggles from turning into full blown tension or fatigue.

Mindfulness can also play a quiet but powerful role.
Downloading a mindfulness app and practising for five minutes before you start work can help you arrive at your desk feeling more grounded and less reactive. Over time, this kind of short daily practice can make it easier to manage stress and stay present, even when your inbox is busy.

Finally, do not underestimate the value of a bit of light hearted fun. Using a chalkboard or light board with the day of the week written on it and adding a positive word, such as “Happy Wednesday”, can become a small daily ritual. It is a gentle reminder to notice something good about the day and can spark a smile every time you see it. Individually, these habits are small. Together, they create a routine that supports your energy, mental health and sense of control, even when the wider world still feels anything but normal.
